A New Kind of Bartender: The Barbot!

A bartending robot created by local hacker collective NYC Resistor served drinks at Pacific Standard

NYC Resistor's barbot, a robot made from a Japanese slot machine that serves patrons a mixed drink randomly selected from its database, was installed Tuesday at on Fourth Avenue.

The robot was created for Hackerspace Challenge, a contest sponsored by VIMBY and Scion, and included entrants from a variety of DIY-type groups from around the country. NYC Resistor's barbot took first place.

The award-winning robot will be serving drinks again at "The Interactive Show," an NYC Resistor event on Saturday, May 7 at 8 p.m.
